Why ÆGIR RESILIENCE?

ÆGIR RESILIENCE takes its name from ÆGIR, the personification of the sea in Norse mythology. The name reflects the power and complexity of water, as well as its ability to shape societies, infrastructure, economies, and security.

Water carries the power to sustain development, connect regions, and strengthen communities. It can also create disruption and despair when scarcity, excess, environmental pressure or weak systems are left unaddressed.
